Lawson Harlow is pastor and lead planter of Mercy Hill Church. Lawson is a pastor first and foremost. His greatest joy is in the shepherding of God’s people through faithful ministry of the Word. Lawson was saved as a 15-year-old and, shortly after his salvation, was called into the ministry. Lawson started his ministry at nineteen by serving as a youth pastor at First Baptist Church in Grenada, MS. While serving there, the Lord gave Lawson a great passion for Preaching. After three years of serving in Grenada, the Lord led Lawson and his wife, Beth, to Memphis to continue his education at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. It was during this time that God provided Lawson with the opportunity to serve as Interim Pastor at Riverside Baptist Church in Clarksdale, MS. While in Clarksdale, the Lord began to give Lawson a great joy in pastoring a full congregation. After serving there for a brief stent, Lawson felt called back to student ministry and served as Associate Student Minister at Longview Heights Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS. It was during this time that Lawson was approached by various mentors, church members, and pastors about church planting. After many months of prayer, Lawson was contacted by Longview Point Baptist Church to become their Church Planting Intern. From that point forward, Lawson has been serving as the lead planter of Mercy Hill Church. Lawson lives in Olive Branch, MS with his sweet wife, Beth, and their dog, Delta. Beth and Lawson met at Delta State University and were married December 15, 2012.
Michael "Drew" Thomas, II was born and raised in the small town of Ackerman, Mississippi. Drew and his loving wife of 11 years, Crystal, met on a blind date at Mississippi State University. They are gratefully blessed with two beautiful boys, Tripp (9) and Cort Taylor (6). And they love their Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Thomas family currently resides near Olive Branch, MS where Drew owns an insurance business with Alfa Insurance Company. Drew was raised in Ackerman Baptist Church and came to Christ at the age of 8. From childhood into adulthood, it was very apparent that Drew was gifted in music, but instead chose to pursue an education without focusing on his calling to serve the Lord through music. Through early adulthood, Drew chose a secular route with his music, while also maintaining a career. It wasn't until fatherhood that he decided to concentrate on using his gifts in worship ministry. Drew's greatest joys are Jesus, family, and friends, but he also has a great passion to lead others in authentic worship to the glory of God alone.
